For every woman at the director level who gets promoted, two women directors choose to leave their company.

McKinsey & LeanIn.org 2022

At The Girls Club we are on a mission to uncover the real-world truth of women leaders and champion change.

The TGC Annual Insight Report tells all.

Thought leadership

At TGC we focus on 2 key ways to drive Thought Leadership:
  • Genuine, unfiltered insight into the experiences of women leaders in the workplace.
  • Importance of the support given by male allies.

Our Annual TGC Insight Survey

We harness the collective voice of our members to drive change—because action can’t wait. Our TGC Insight Survey is our annual deep dive into the real experiences of women in leadership, built from 100+ hours of honest conversations, revealing microaggressions, missed opportunities and the urgent need to change how we work together.
Our research objective:
To uncover the real-world truth about what’s going on for women leaders in the workplace? What’s going well, what’s not and what needs to change to create a more equitable workplace.
Why its important:
The findings will ignite critical conversations among our members, thought leaders, media, government and businesses alike. And act as a benchmark to track changes over time and audit organisations on the reality of how their women leaders are feeling.

Thank you for giving us a chance to vocalise what has been silent for so long. I am hopeful that this brings about meaningful change.

With 319 responses from women leaders, equating to over 100 hours of honest insight, the findings reveal both the successes and systemic challenges that continue to shape their careers.

Despite their passion for leadership, many women still face barriers such as sexism, pay disparities, microaggressions, and limited workplace support.

International Women’s Day 2025

At our IWD event in 2025 we shared the topline finding of our 2025 Insight Report and were inspired to hear Dr Donna De Haan, The Diversity Doctor and Lee Chambers from Male Allies UK share their thoughts on Collaboration. Not Competition.

Events like this bring the people, data and stories together to really create actions. In a world that’s divided and polarised we need so much more of that togetherness and unity at the moment."

Importance of Male Allies.

Our TGC Insight Report 2025 suggests that male allies play a crucial role in fostering a workplace culture where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed. 65% of women leaders stated that they feel supported by male allies.

We know that change won't happen unless we work together and we’re working with some brilliant men to identify how we can work together to raise awareness and create meaningful change.

Some of the ways that male allies can help include support and advocacy, career advancement and validation and recognition.

I have always had at least one senior male ally in each workplace. They have made what would otherwise be an impossible situation bearable.
